At age 93, just days after her birthday, Barbara Thomas sweet home named Amity Cottage in the Santa Cruz Mountains burned to the ground in the CZU Lightning Fires of 2020. While sheltering from COVID and creating plans for her new home, she gathered all of her rambling thoughts, poetry and prose together in this book, Infused with the Muse.
All the writings in this book were created after she was 80. At age 81, she published the DVD Healing Burned Woman, a companion to the book, The Burned Woman, which she published at age 70. She was inspired to use the book as the basis for a workshop to assist healing women to move into their power. At age 87 she self-published the book, Celebrating the Magic of Jim's Road, which was begun during the time of the broken leg. At age 91 she self-published her biography, Living with the Spirits of the Land, compiled and edited by Mary Jane de Piero. At age 92, she picked up writing the blog and soon will reach her 100th offering. All of this occurred after she raised four children, traveled the world with various groups with her husband, Jim, spent significant time in Northern Scotland at Findhorn Foundation, and designing three homes.
Along with writing and publishing these three books and a DVD in her later years, she has also painted the complete tarot deck, shared an art exhibit at the Mountain Art Center and maintains a blog to share her experiences with the Elemental and Angelic Spirits who live in the redwood forest near her home, Barbara is proof that creativity flows at any age.
