London art gallery proprietor Nigel Dearlove arrives in New York City with nothing more sinister in mind than sponsoring and promoting the EuroMerica exhibit, an exhibition of new-wave artistic talent from Europe. It's his first trip to the states, and he is thrilled by the prospect of an exciting and prosperous visit. Fate intervenes, however; his striking resemblance to a "diplomat-gone-defender" who recently liberated sixty-thousand Costa Rican refugees has him slated for a more adventurous trip than he could ever have planned for.
From the moment he steps off the plane at Kennedy International Airport, Nigel is marked for murder. Of course, as if that's not enough to keep him busy, he is also implicated in assassination attempts made on the real diplomat's life. It's up to Nigel and his uncanny luck to keep himself both alive and out of prison for the duration of his first trip through American politics.
