Set in the 16th century at the historic Haddon Hall in Derbyshire, England, the opera features a cast of colorful characters, including Dorothy's father, Sir George Vernon, and his scheming wife, Lady Vernon. The music for Haddon Hall was composed by Arthur Sullivan, best known for his collaborations with W.S. Gilbert on the popular Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.
