Barrington, located between Chicago and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, along the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad corridor (now Metra), has enriched area history from the days of the Potawatomi Indians through the railroad age. Later, Barrington became the stage for relaxed country living away from the busy financial and industrial districts of Chicago.
