Locking up, I spot a lone figure braving the rain with an umbrella, which seems to betray them against the relentless downpour. As I watch, their umbrella succumbs, folding helplessly. As I stare at them I realise it's a girl. She scans for shelter, unaware of my presence. Without hesitation, I unlock the door, half my body exposed to the rain, and call out, waving desperately to catch her attention over the storm's roar.

As she catches sight of me, she shifts toward the bookstore, and relief washes over when she enters. I step back, holding the door open for her, and she begins thanking me. The thud of her wet bag hitting the floor echoes in the quiet space. I'm half soaked from my attempt to get her attention, but she's completely drenched, clothes clinging to her body. Hastily, I avert my eyes, feeling a bit awkward.

2. Where We Stand

I never expected it to happen, but there it was—this undeniable crush on my best friend. I know, it sounds clichéd and annoying, and trust me, I didn't mean for it to unfold this way. We were just friends one day, laughing and sharing secrets, and the next, I started noticing how attractive he was. It hit me like a surprise plot twist in a cheesy rom-com

3. I Follow You

As the night went on and the fun continued, a strong desire grew in me. I couldn't shake the wish to see her again, to enjoy that warm laughter. Fueled by this new obsession, I went back to the same bar the next night, hoping to catch another glimpse of her.

And there she was, as if the universe decided to make my wish come true. The joy on her face matched mine as I saw her in the familiar setting. My heart skipped a beat, and a wave of happiness washed over me. In that moment, the bar turned into a sanctuary where her laughter became the sweetest melody, and I, happily captivated, found comfort in simply seeing her again.

Her eyes scanned the room, searching for a quiet corner to lose herself in Bach's intricate melodies.

Suddenly, a warm, soulful melody drifted from the corner, weaving through the cafe's murmur. Emma followed the sound, her heart skipping a beat as she saw him. He sat hunched over a worn-out guitar, fingers dancing across the strings with practiced ease.

5. Hidden Encounters

While the other group members are practically inseparable, always together except during classes, I crave moments of solitude. The group atmosphere is suffocating, especially when my feelings toward them are lukewarm at best. The garden with its serene atmosphere gives me the rare chance to think alone, away from all the responsibilities and relationships that make up the group.

One night I am heading to my favourite spot in the garden, and I notice someone is already there. It is Casey, a member of the girls' group.
