Medieval Times. Territory of Venezuela. The caravel 'Saint Isabella' and the brigantine 'Victoria' reached the coast of Venezuela. The Commander, through a spyglass, looked at the coast, where the Spanish fortress of Saint-Philippe was located, and the bay, where, to his greatest surprise, he did not see the viceroy's caravel.
Rene with a small detachment landed on the shore in order to make reconnaissance. They reached the city and found a terrifying picture: all its inhabitants were dead and torn to pieces.
Rene and the team return to the caravel and tell the Commander about the fate that befell the fortress. The Commander decides to land on the shore, the mercenaries go to the Golden City. The path is not close and difficult.
Finally, the squad reaches the foot of Mount 'Fire-Breathing Serpent'. At dawn, the Spaniards are attacked by local warriors. A fierce fight ensues. Most of the mercenaries die. Rene and the commander decide to flee: there is no other way out. The professor at this time throws pouches with Titanius at the attackers.
Breaking away from Rene's pursuit, Don Ramirez and several other mercenaries regret to find that the Professor is not with them. They wander through the rainforest for several days. One mercenary dies from his wounds, the rest betray Rene and the wounded Commander and leave them to their fate.
Rene loses consciousness about thirst and hunger. He later regains consciousness in a spacious hut. Hidalgo is surprised to meet the professor. Four young girls sit around him, ready to fulfill any desire.
The Professor tells Rene a story about how he climbed a tree while retreating from fear. Then, after some time, he saw local warriors, and since he had pouches with Titanius in his bosom, he threw one of the pouches at the enemies. But alas, he could not stay on the tree and fell to the ground. The locals, dumbfounded by his appearance, decided that God had descended from heaven. It is he who, according to their legend, must go to the Golden City and defeat the Black Fox, who is the embodiment of Evil. The Hidalgo also learns that Don Ramirez is alive.
