Enter Reginald "Reggie" Marlow, a well-meaning young gentleman with a natural talent for getting himself into comically improbable situations. His life has been one of good intentions and laughable results, particularly when it comes to the realm of romance. His involvement with Blandings begins under rather unusual circumstances, finding himself entangled in an engagement that is as unorthodox as it is fabricated. Add in a meddlesome aunt, a valiant yet ever-patient valet named Smithers, and a parrot with a penchant for spilling the beans, and you have a recipe for comedic chaos.
As Reggie muddles through his latest misadventure at Blandings Manor, the stakes climb higher, the misunderstandings more convoluted, and the cast of characters ever more bizarre. Yet, through it all, one thing remains clear: the social ballyhoo that ensues at Blandings will inevitably lead to a series of events so farcical that even the most prepared mind will find themselves laughing through the madness.
