Christian Poetry for the Heart and Soul is my selection of the poems I consider the best and most poignant offerings representing my firm Christian fundamental principles, beliefs and eschatological thinking embodying discipline, defending the faith, and imparting wisdom and comfort to the reader. I wish to dispel two rumors, misunderstandings, and myths about Christians: 1.) Christians are weak and 2. ) Christians will just pray and let things happen. Certainly in my case prayer is a priori to action, but never doubt my willingness to destroy evil by any means necessary and to eliminate the evildoers who mock God. To be certain there are large groups of such lukewarm Christians, but again the world does not understand. I am among, not only one of the staunch defenders, but one who is ready for battle with the backing of God and God's word to destroy evil in whatever form it manifests itself.I recommend my powerful presentation of Christian beliefs and actions as portrayed in my book, Demolishing the Demons. I believe in both the Old and New Testaments. You might call my religious beliefs wholistic! "Vengeance is mine," saith the Lord, but I am that instrument of justice to enforce his word. You will find sections of my Christian poetry throughout my more than 50 books of poetry from which I culled the ones I felt were my best written; ones which imparted wisdom and comfort not only for my own reflections, but which would benefit the readers. The poetry in this volume is both vigorous and creative, while adhering to the Christian values taught me as a child and honored throughout my life. God is both my savior and protector. He will send his messengers in the form of Guardian Angels to provide guidance and keep me safe in a world of persecution of Christians. There are "angels all around us: "ANGELS ALL AROUND USBy Roy E. Peterson (June 11, 2018)I believe in angels, so I wrote these poems for you.I believe in heaven, and I pray that you do too.I believe in prayer with faith, and hope, and love.I believe in children and Christmas we think of.I believe that when we die, He has saved our soul.I believe In God We Trust, for He has made us whole.I believe in Patriots, who fought till victory. If you believe, or want to know, these poems you must see.The basis for my Table of Contents is the words and verses of Psalms 23. I chose this structure because it encapsulates the Christian's walk of faith through a troubled world from the time of accepting Christ until uniting with the Lord and the Saints in heaven. Furthermore, of all the verses of the Bible, this one likely is the most recognizable one. The words instantly came to mind, when I began considering selecting the best classical Christian poems I have written and placing them into some kind of order.Psalms 23, KJV: The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever
