The World Forest's last stand against the Dream Emperor's religion of exploitation depends on one magical child.
All Atlantis thinks it knows the story of the Maji's birth. But what if the traditional story of the holy one's gifts, childhood and days leading up to exile in Markland was a lie? What if there were witnesses, and their stories were rather different from the sacharine tales told every year?
Here in Testaments of the Maji, Consecration, for the first time the story is told by those that were there.
Here are the stories of the miracles surrounding his birth and his.idyllic childhood in the Ilfilands in the days leading up to their colonisation by Atlantis. But here too are the stories of the colonisers and the colonised, and the Ilfi's horrific secret of the power of their sorcery, and the true reason for the Maji's exile, so long suppressed by doctrine.
Testaments of the Maji is a fantasy but also a parable and an exploration of the motifs and modes of the religious story. It is set in Atlantis but any parallels to the world you know are entirely intentional.
