As were their Weimar predecessors, German legal scholars are faced with profound political transformation, this time in the shape of Europeanisation and globalisation. Verena Frick's study analyses writings on state and constitution in the country from 1979 onwards and presents a typology of today's thinking. Im Zuge von Europaisierung und Globalisierung hat sie es mit einem politischen Formenwandel zu tun, der die Grundlagen ihrer Disziplin in Frage stellt. Zugespitzt zeigt sich diese Auseinandersetzung in der Staats- und Verfassungsdiskussion, wo die Zukunftsfahigkeit der zentralen staatsrechtlichen Gegenstande verhandelt wird. Als politische Schlusselbegriffe bundeln Staat und Verfassung ubergeordnete Fragen der Politik wie diejenige nach den institutionellen Bedingungen der Demokratie, der Legitimation politischer Ordnung sowie dem Verhaltnis von Politik und Recht wie unter einem Brennglas.
