Don Quixote of the Mancha is a classic novel written by Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes. The book is part of the Harvard Classics collection and is the fourteenth volume in the series. The story follows the adventures of a man named Alonso Quixano, who becomes so enamored with tales of chivalry that he sets out on a quest to become a knight-errant himself. He renames himself Don Quixote and sets out on a series of adventures with his loyal squire, Sancho Panza. Along the way, he encounters various characters, both real and imaginary, and becomes embroiled in a series of comical and often absurd situations. The novel is a satire of the romanticized ideals of chivalry and is considered one of the greatest works of Spanish literature.
