1. Background of the study
The global business environment has its own characteristics which consist of controllable and
uncontrollable factors. Most business organizations work hard to identify business
opportunities as well as business threats so that they can handle unforeseen developments. Internal
environmental factors are controllable and are usually regarded as strengths and weaknesses of an
organization. Since the internal factors are the elements within the organization itself, the
organization can take care of these factors internally. This includes management, employees,
organizational structure, innovations, operations, infrastructure, organizational culture, etc. As
these are internal to the organization, the organization has control over these factors
