This story is based on the life of the Ethiopian woman, referred to as Mericah in this book, who became the wife of Moses (Numbers 12 V-I). This marriage caused controversy because many thought she wasn't good enough because of her dark skin, country of origin, and because she was not a Hebrew -- even though she was chosen by God.
Mericah is a fictitious character and is not intended to conflict with actual biblical or historical writings. She was born into the biblical environment to open minds to the possibility of what may have been. Additionally, the author hopes that she may inspire other storytellers to bring to life strong characters with morals and meaningfulness designed to change the image of a race of people who are cursed by definition.
