Lockdown, because of Covid 19, meant for many people an opportunity to re-evaluate their lives. Some folk embarked on new hobbies. Jigsaws became popular once again and many people ventured into new craft activities. Some turned to writing, with a view to publishing their first novel. I stitched several tapestries, which I subsequently framed, and then, when my wife decided we had more than enough I thought I would write a memoir. I had no intention of publishing it. After all, it would have a very limited market. Whoever would want to read about the life of a Methodist minister? No, it was simply something to fill in my time and leave for my family and friends.
When I joined a Rotary Club I prepared an an address to 'introduce myself'.This was amended and used when I was asked to talk to a number of Women's meetings.I also had copies of Round Robins which we had sent out each Christmas for many years and audio and video diaries I kept when we visited America. It would just be a case of putting them together in a single narrative. Then someone suggested "Why not publish it?". So here it is. I hope you enjoy it.
