When Kane makes finally makes his selection, no one is more shocked than the female he chooses. She only attended to be of support to her best friend who has wished all her life to be queen. "Boyfriend? Not mate?" he asked, sounding curious.
"He's not of-age yet," she told him. "Though I am sure he is my mate. At least, I think he is."
"And what if he's not?" he questioned. His face looked more somber than before, and Lexi wondered if he disapproved of their pairing before knowing if they were truly meant to be.
She merely shrugged. "I'll deal with that if it comes to pass."
