George Haint is an unusual ghost story. It's spooky and surprising, and will chill you to the bone.
This short story is set Virginia City of Nevada, during the Comstock gold and silver rush of the 1850's, and full of color of the area, and period.
"And just when I settled into my expectations, the story took a horrifyingly dark turn. It's not often a story shocks me, but this one did. It's a short work, but well worth the read...with the light on?"
The story was begun by Helen Diessner in 2012 and finished by Marta Moran Bishop after her sister's death in 2021. Helen lived and worked for many years in the Gold Hill section of Virginia City and worked at the Way it Was Museum. She was an avid reader, loved history, and fully believed in ghosts.
