In a battle against anorexia nervosa, I finally let out a cry. I finally asked for help. I found myself in a store cupboard with a sack full of raisins, but even greater, I found myself in a store cupboard with Almighty God, the creator of the universe, my Father, my friend. I needed help. I needed rescue, and I needed saving; but really, I needed Him. He was the answer I was looking for as He changed my life forever.
DISCOVERING GOD IN THE MIDST OF YOUR MESS

WINNING THE FIGHT AGAINST EATING DISORDERS
CARRYING HIS PRESENCE WHEREVER YOU GO
REMEMBERING HIS FAITHFULNESS…AND SO MUCH MORE!
Every morning, God would greet me with the same words on repeat: 'Take a handful of raisins, put them in your pocket, and snack on them throughout the day.' Breakfast, lunch and evening meal; there He was speaking to me, feeding me and rescuing me. My control had gone, my surrender had begun, and I was being saved and set free by the Father of lights, one raisin at a time.
I had come to the end of my rope. I had no other option. All I could do was cry out to God. He was all I had left, but it didn't have to be this way. I had the option to call on Him from day one of my struggles, but independence, pride, and shame kept me silent. When I finally asked for help, it came, and came in a way I wasn't expecting. It came in companionship, love, forgiveness, grace, and mercy. I gained a best friend, a Saviour and a brand-new life as I laid down an eating disorder and took hold of the freedom God had granted me as His daughter. He rescued me with raisins, built me with His Word and repaired my heart through His resurrection. He can help you too! All He needs is your surrender and to hear your cry to Him today. God Is Not Just A Handful of Raisins. He is not your last hope. He is your first hope. Come on this journey to discover His goodness, His rescue, and His faithfulness. He will meet you exactly where you're at; all He needs is your cry.
