Gray Girls is a sequel to the book Silver Sisters. Lucy, Karen, Mona, and Cheryl continue their previously set tasks of guiding others in the areas of smoking cessation, exercise, weight loss, self-esteem, and abstaining from drugs and alcohol.
They also encounter additional problems along the way. Mona is faced with a mental disease. And Karen continues to be smoke-free to help others. Together, they are to form the new committee called WHEAT and open a new treatment cent for alcoholism and drug addiction.
Together the Gray Girls bond to keep their spiritual life strong. They encourage each other as they continue with their new challenges. They support each other as they interact with many ill and dying people in the hospital and the community. They can also make the Gray Girls' attitude of faith strong to gain approval of their administrator, Joe, who continues to expect great accomplishments from these four women.
