You may call me Reina Valainah Arellano, or just Queen Bish of the Glaciar Rojo coven.

The etiquette lessons, or whatever ridiculous lessons, that Rainer had given me appeared to have yielded results as I was selected to lead this struggling coven.

Before accepting, I received information that they had been with no direction for years following the King's passing. However, upon arriving here, in Spain, I discovered that the situation was far more dire than I had anticipated.

Prince Thiago Bernal, be still my cold, dead heart, faced a rebellion from a substantial faction of vampires who went rogue. The remaining vampires disregarded their limits and refused to let the prince take charge.

Alright, the Prince was quite ineffective as a leader. Instead of taking charge, he preferred to cater to the whims of the remaining coven members by hosting weekly parties.

For Bevo's sake, this coven had a lot of enemies who wanted to go to war with the Glaciar Rojo coven, but the Prince preferred to pay them off instead as a way of shutting them up.

I don't want to be misunderstood, but despite my deep affection for this man, my future husband, he was not an ideal embodiment of our coven and I needed to show him how to be a leader.

It was time for me to put on my boots, spurs and all, and kick some vampire butt - inside my coven and our enemies.
