Hard Peace: Pomes and Songs represents a short selection of 19 hastily chosen poems and songs written in the past five years. Some are quite long and others quite short. Some are quite literal and others far less so.
Many of the works would benefit from being read in a broad Glaswegian accent – more for reasons of atmosphere than because of anything literary.
True lovers of poetry would almost certainly find that their time and attention was more fruitfully spent doing something else – but if you must, you must.
