Healing Through Chronic Pain

When my pain began, I was working as a physical therapist and teaching university courses related to the rehabilitation of adults with neurological disorders. I started writing from the very beginning because I thought my perspective as a patient/therapist might help others who were also dealing with chronic pain.
To heal, I tried a plethora of treatments from Western medicine and complementary approaches, and I worked with a group of very experienced and skilled professionals. Over time, I realized that all three aspects of my person-body, mind, and spirit-are interconnected pieces of this healing puzzle. Taking this holistic approach to my illness was crucial to my healing, so I decided to share my full experience.
These pages capture the changes that took place in my whole being throughout a five-year healing process. Many people have told me that I've written their story, and reading the book helped them not feel so alone in their struggle. Learning how I moved through the pain also gave them new options to try, and hope that it is possible to feel better. And for me, HOPE is powerfully healing.
