Heart is a rock group formed during 1970 in Seattle, Washington, U.S., by Steve Fossen (bass guitar), Roger Fisher (guitar), David Belzer (keyboards), and Jeff Johnson (drums), having evolved from an existing band, White Heart. The vocalists for Heart since 1973 have been sisters Ann Wilson (lead vocals, flute, guitar) (born June 19th, 1950) and Nancy Wilson (vocals, guitar, mandolin) (born March 16th, 1954). Over the group's history, it's had 3 main lineups.
Heart first became successful when its members moved to Canada, partly to avoid the draft, followed later by the States then worldwide. The band rose to fame in the mid-'70s with music influenced by hard rock and heavy metal, as well as folk music. Their popularity dipped during the early '80s, before Heart launched a successful comeback in 1985, which continued into the '90s, releasing many hard-rock songs and ballads. The group split up during 1998 then got back together in 2002. Heart ended their acrimonious break-up of 2016 during the summer of 2019, by launching their 'Love Alive' tour. Their iconic hits include Crazy on You (1976), Magic Man (1976), Barracuda (1977) and Alone (1987).
