★★★★★ "5.0 out of 5 stars - This Book is a Delight"
★★★★★ "I laughed so hard in a few places that I couldn't read for the tears rolling down my face" Hi, I'm Abby Foster, formerly a retired accountant, now general manager and CFO of Alberta's Grizzly Gulch Guest Ranch. My two sisters and I inherited the place at an age when most sensible women contemplate retirement. No one ever called us sensible. Facing financial ruin due to renovation cost overruns, we scramble to host a week-long horse breeding symposium intended to increase our popularity and attract more guests. Hours into the symposium, a cowboy's sudden death appears accidental to everyone, including the Mounties, except me. Smelling a murder, I convince my sisters and our hot barn manager to help me conduct a covert investigation without alerting the guests. Problem is, our quirky guests are the main suspects. Chaos ensues when we tangle with one seriously amorous gelding (yes, it happens), a runaway stud, dwarf goats, a spitting llama, and an uncooperative stallion. A late-life romance ups the ante for me, while drugs and deceit increase the danger for everyone. Warning: This book may contain nuggets of naughty and inappropriate boomer humor. ★★★★★ - It was everything I'd hoped for: laugh-out-loud, hilarious scenes, wild and fun characters, and the twisty, turning plot of a great mystery, and best of all I didn't guess "who done it". ★★★★★ - HORSING AROUND WITH MURDER is one of the funniest mystery stories I have read in a long time. With laugh-out-loud comedy, loads of hilarious action and some of the coolest characters ever written, this book really does have it all. The story grabbed me from the very first page and moved at a quick but steady pace all the way through. The characters are simply marvelous; very relatable, fun, quirky, and, more importantly, likable and real. With so many suspects, it was hard to figure out whodunnit and the story just keeps you guessing all the way through. A fabulous story, a fun adventure with a little bit of senior romance to sweeten the deal, and plenty of laughs along the way. Highly recommended read. ★★★★★ - Clever, Witty, and Highly Relatable - This tale engaged me from the start with characters that were funny, smart, and above all, highly relatable. Their follies and adventures on a recently inherited ranch, made this a book I genuinely could not out down. I'd sure like to be a guest at the ranch again and hang out with these sisters. ★★★★★ - Laugh out loud fun and mystery - It was everything I had hoped for: laugh-out-loud, hilarious scenes, wild and fun characters, and the twisty, turning plot of a great mystery, and best of all I didn't guess "who done it"... EXCERPTI'd hoped to avoid entering the barn until, well, the end of time, seeing as how it was home to multiple half-ton, hairy owners of huge teeth, sharp hooves, and bad attitudes. Yet here I was, speeding down the corridor and avoiding eye contact with the occupants. Every one of those suckers was munching on whatever horses chew when they're not, say, taking a chunk out of someone's ass.
I'd reached the halfway point when the largest horse in the world whinnied, revealing long, yellow teeth. I skidded to a halt, certain the beast's eyes shot red sparks. The sign over the stall door proclaimed "Alamo."I was about to dart past when Dodie said, "This one seems friendly. Here's an opportunity for you to master your fear. Does Abby master her fear of horses? Do the senior sleuths finger the killer or will Abby end up as another victim? To find out, scroll up to buy this book and start reading today!
