Howard Carter Discovers King Tutankhamun's Tomb tells the dramatic story of the excavation of Tutankhamun's royal tomb. Carter faced a slew of problems--from artifacts that were reduced to dust, to Tutankhamun's mummy stuck inside his coffin from the ancient resins meant to preserve it. Not only did Carter have to deal with difficult restoration challenges, but rumors of a curse also threatened to leave him without workers and the death of his patron without funding. The story gripped the public's fascination to the point of obsession, turning the excavation site into a circus, setting everyone's nerves on edge, and propelling petty arguments into door-slamming disputes. The year 2022 marks the 100-year anniversary of the discovery of King Tutankhamen's tomb in the Valley of the Kings.
