Pierre Dudas believes he has collected wondrous African animals for his 'Creatures Never Before Seen' exhibit for the Paris 'Exposition Universelle' of 1900. He hopes his animals will cause the same excitement as the Eiffel Tower did for the 1889 World's fair. Then he meets American cowboy Colton Maguire in a Paris restaurant. Colton has just returned from a failed safari in south central Africa- his entire party of experienced hunters were wiped out by a mysterious giant ape. Pierre decides he must have this ape as the centerpiece of his exhibit. He will be the talk of Paris, the nation, even the world when everyone sees this titan.
Already returning to Africa to pick up the final shipment of animals, Pierre decides to make an attempt at capturing this giant ape. Along with a pair of big game hunters and a veterinarian, Pierre convinces a reluctant Colton to take them to where the other hunters hunted the giant ape.
Back in Paris, Pierre's plans for an exhibit with no cage for the giant ape go horribly wrong as 1900s Paris and Africa's apex hunter collide when King Gor escapes. With two rich board members of the Paris zoo trying to thwart their efforts, Pierre and Colton work to return King Gor back to Africa before anyone else is killed.
