Welcome to the Shitshow!
In the surreal time of a futuristic pandemic, Will Lawson is an everyman in many ways: a high school teacher, coach, husband, father, and grandfather who falls victim to the virus. He is admitted to a hospital and winds up on a ventilator for 45 long days. While he is in a medically induced coma, the story unfolds.
A fever dream of experiences unfolds, taking him from the Pacific Northwest to a mega casino in Belize with his buddies. While on this road trip to ultimately gamble for his life, he meets an eclectic cast of characters. He must decide which of these characters will survive and which will die in an underground game called the Dead Pool. Some characters are real from his present and past. Others are composite characters tending to him in the hospital.
In Looking for Lawson by Mark Kirby, the choices we make - or allow others to make for us - define our life. Will learns what matters most to him in the end and at what it may cost him to keep it.
If there's a Will, there's a way.
