An astronaut, a rabbi, and a gorilla walk into a bar… and while that sounds like the beginning of a bar joke, when the Medical Examiner puts out a call for body bags, there's nothing funny about the punch line. Or is there?

It's mid-October and the annual Halloween Festival has been put on hold. Whiskey's in jail, Fortune and Gertie are running the Swamp Bar, there's a full moon out, and a black cat follows Ida Belle into the bar. What could possibly go wrong? The girls are about to find out. When things go south, a manhunt is on, and the girls find themselves in peril hundreds of miles from home.
