There is a series of physical and mental characteristics that contribute to unbeaten performance in elite sports. Each sport and activity requires a specific set of these skills. Being successful in one sport does not necessarily make you successful in another, as success requires a whole range of factors to come together and interact in the right way. Coordinative ability is just one of the factors, and for many sports plays a significant role in success. Coordination itself, however, is a comprehensive system made up of numerous synergistic elements and not necessarily a singularly defined ability.
