A double feature story aimed at picture book readers aged 5+. It is a classic fear of the dark story with a monster twist. Once you've read one side of the story, you can flip the book over to discover a whole new side. You can read either side first, though we recommend more sensitive readers start with The Monsters and the Snargle. The two stories come together to explore some of our common childhood fears and the lesser known challenges faced by our monsters.
Mulligan dislikes bedtime because he is afraid of the dark, convinced there are monsters hiding in his room. Meanwhile the monsters must overcome their sensitivity to light and face their fear of the noisy snargle creature lurking in its den in the corner of their room. Both stories unfold at the same time in the same room on one eventful night.
Three Sided Stories are writer James Williams and illustrator Kybor Carlsen. We believe in stories that help develop empathy, create a space for children to understand and make friends with their fears, and celebrate the healing power of love and laughter. Together we create colourful, stimulating and immersive stories for you to enjoy, and once you've finished reading a book one way around, it's time to flip it over and discover its upside down side!
