Description

Naija Holloway is destined to uphold the covenant her ancestors made with the custodial beings of Old Meyer Pond. The spirits surround her. They cause her to dream of the water. Fate moves swiftly when Naija's parents decide to send her south for the summer. They have caught the teen in a compromising position with Chris, a popular high school jock. Naija reluctantly boards a plane to Georgia at her father's insistence. Aunt Divine is eager to train the girl in all her ways. She believes the basimbi have lured her home to serve. The elders send Naija on a vision quest where she connects with the realm of the unseen. But the line between dreams and reality remains vague for Eb, her elder brother. The basimbi keep calling him to the water. Eb knows it is a sign to serve but has other plans for his life. The young collegian attempts to free himself from spiritual bondage by making an offering to the pond. Meanwhile, Veronica is determined to bear Divine a protégée of her own.
