The story is set in the 18th century and revolves around the character of Olivette, a young and beautiful peasant girl who falls in love with the nobleman Marquis de Ch�����teauneuf. However, their love is not accepted by society due to their different social status.The operetta is filled with catchy tunes and witty lyrics, and features a range of colorful characters such as the scheming Countess, the bumbling Mayor, and the lovestruck farmer. The music is a mix of classical and popular styles, with lively dance numbers and romantic ballads.Olivette was a popular success when it premiered in Paris in 1881, and it went on to be performed in theaters all over the world.
