Mounds State Park has a rich history. It is home to three earthworks: The Great Mound, Fiddleback Mound, and the Circle Mound that were inhabited by the Adena and Hopewell Indians over 2,000 years ago. The park was also home to a popular amusement park in the early 1900s.
This beautifully illustrated book provides a fun and engaged way for elementary school age children to learn about history and nature as they take the journey with Peanut, and her grandmother, through the park.
In addition to learning about Native American history, it is the author and illustrator's hope that the book will inspire children and their parents to unplug and spend some quality time outdoors in nature, especially at local and state parks like Mounds that are filled with fun and educational activities!
