As a result of the burning of fossil fuels, toxic air pollution levels are above health-based standards in many areas. The production and utilization of ultraclean fuels for transportation has been considered as the most effective approach to solve the issues of air pollution.
The aim of this ACS series book, which contains nine chapters, is to give the reader an appreciation of the state-of-the-art with respect to the production and utilization of clean fuels. The book focuses on the following topics: hydrotreating (Chapters 1 and 2), desulfurization (Chapters 3 and 4), biomass production (Chapters 5 and 6), carbon dioxide separation and conversion (Chapters 7 and 8), and hydrogen production (Chapter 9).
