Slow Surrender' is a book which explores a side of the Christian faith which is not always expressed: that of struggle and suffering. The author has a chronic illness and has found the last few years difficult. Nevertheless, as she has wrestled with her faith, thinking about what it means to live a life marked by pain, largely hidden from the rest of the world, and certainly not the heroic life she once imagined a Christian life would be, she has found that 'underneath are the everlasting arms'. She has discovered more deeply than ever how her God is her refuge and how He gives her 'more grace as the burdens grow greater'. In the collection you will find poems of hope, and poems closer to despair, but through all the poems runs the common theme of seeking to trust that her God is faithful, that He has a plan for her life, and that one day He will bring her home to be with Him.
