"Samsara & the Phoenix" is a three-sonnet sequence illustrated with the poet's own artwork. The poem addresses creativity and the toll of it. The book is illustrated mainly with Rorschach-abstracts, art that mimics the techniques of poet/medical writer Justinus Kerner that served as inspiration for Hermann Rorschach when he developed his inkblot tests.

Author note:
This book captures my introduction to Picart and is an early art-poetry book. As always, photography is the basis for many art pieces. Several pieces are from photos I took of artwork found in the Toledo Art Museum.
