What can you do when your childhood is constantly under assault?
When you must always walk over the shattered glass of your reality?
When you are unwanted at home, and by the world?
How can you leave when there is nowhere to go?
This is their existence.
Sydney and her two younger siblings have spent their lives under an umbrella of abuse, of violence, and a revolving door of foster homes due to their mother's addictions and rage.
No more. It must stop.
They know they must leave.
But with few friends and isolated from family, they have but one difficult choice – a choice they knows will likely tear them apart yet again.
With the help of a new ally, Sydney begins to carve a path towards their freedom. In doing so, she must protect herself, and her siblings, from not only their mother, but from a cold society where reality itself seems to be against them.
Along the way, Sydney begins to wonder if her imaginary friend is more than she appears …
Based on experiences from the author's childhood, this is a story that will stay with you long after you've put all other thoughts to bed for the night.
