Reginald Evans and John Hughes have been best friends since high school in a time where racism was still a big thing in the world. They go to the same college, open up a law firm together after graduating from law school. They roommate together until they each fall in love and get married. They build houses beside each other and raise their kids together.
Regina is the only daughter of Reginald and Maria Evans. Reginald is a successful criminal attorney and Maria is a nurse practitioner. When their daughter falls in love with their best friend's son, who happens to be white, Reggie is concerned. He just doesn't want his daughter to go through the ridicule that still exists with dating a white man in a still racist world even if things have gotten better than they were when he was a child.
Andrew is the son of John Hughes and his wife Peggy, who is Puerto Rican. They are happy about Andrew and Regina's relationship. They just love Regina and don't believe race and color have anything do to with love. They have raised their children about diversity and that they should embrace all races and nationalities.
The world is getting more acceptable of interracial relationships, but can these two beat the odds and make it work?
