Many refer to the senior retirement years as Golden Years. In more ways than you might believe, they are not very golden if the appropriate financial planning has not been taken seriously in earlier years. However, all is not lost because there are still some financial moves you can make to secure financial security as you move through those senior years. This booklet may not have all the financial answers but it does have foundational principles to consider and have in place. Some of these include clarifying your beneficiaries and having your financial house in order so that your children do not spend years and lots of money in probate. Also knowing how and when you can with draw contributions.
It may not be the best time to invest in a life insurance policy but still possible to accumulate some financial "stockpile". Even though a Living Will and a DNR may not be directly associated with financial planning, these are two very important documents to have in place so that your children will know exactly what your wishes are. The "Setting Sail for the 4th Quarter of Life" is foundational in nature so you do not have to trudge through 100s of pages to find an answer. "On Track for Success in Finances" and "Lift Off with Investments" are the other two books in this series I've written.
