Two years after Fearworn's demise, the realms are safe, or rather, they are supposed to be.

After surviving the war against a cursed fae, William Vandervult, now a doctor at one of his family's clinics, has a new list, and this one comprises his missing patients. The authorities claim he exaggerates the disappearances, and the mortal king cares more for throwing parties than investigating.
