Description

Sonnets From The Crimea is a collection of poems written by Adam Mickiewicz, a Polish poet, and published in 1917. The sonnets were written during Mickiewicz's exile in Crimea, a peninsula in the Black Sea, where he lived from 1826 to 1829. The collection consists of 18 sonnets, each of which reflects Mickiewicz's thoughts and emotions during his time in exile. The sonnets cover a range of themes, including love, nature, patriotism, and the human condition. Mickiewicz's writing style is characterized by his use of vivid imagery, metaphors, and allegories. The poems are written in the traditional Petrarchan sonnet form, consisting of 14 lines with a rhyme scheme of ABBA ABBA CDCDCD. Sonnets From The Crimea is considered one of Mickiewicz's most significant works and a masterpiece of Polish Romantic literature. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
