"The expectation that we can be immersed in suffering and loss daily and not be touched by it is as unrealistic as expecting to be able to walk through water without getting wet." ~Naomi Rachel Remen
For those who care for animals or people in need, the pain and depression are real and can be overwhelming. Without an outlet, those suffering from compassion fatigue can feel isolated and alone. The poems within these pages show my journey through the darkness and into the light. At times it seemed all was lost, but that spark still glowed and called out to me. Use these poems as a guide to help you find your way to release your pain and know you're not in this alone.
This is an expanded collection of the poems used in the Suffering in Silence journal.
