This study includes the necessity of embodied energy and its usefulness in practice. It further includes the need, analysis and benefits of adopting innovative construction technologies. Moreover, it highlights the major energy consumption areas during operation of buildings and suggests measures to be incorporated in planning stage to conserve energy and thus lead to sustainability.
