Tempest in a Blaze of Glory: a Shiloh Tempest mystery
"The thoughts of my own mortality first entered my mind as I drove my cruiser across the Henley Street Bridge, over the Tennessee River, with the Knoxville-Knox County City-County Building to my right and the Sunsphere, left over from the 1982 World's Fair, to my left. At least that's the first time I remember dwelling on my mortality."
Shiloh Tempest, still an unmarried man despite his best efforts, is happy to celebrate the marriage of his co-worker. But just before the ceremony begins, the minister is killed by a sniper.
Is it a random murder with no motive beyond evil? Is it a hate crime targeting the gay newlyweds? Or was the killer gunning for Shiloh?
