MATTHEW MORROW WAS NO LONGER ON THE RUN - HE WAS ON THE CHASE.
Reuniting him with his old flame had been a terrible mistake. Now the United Systems had lost the prison complex at Botany Bay. Worse, Matthew Morrow now had a seagoing navy at his disposal, and had forged an alliance with an enemy the Five Ladies, long ago, said they had destroyed.
But maybe one man in all the Galaxy could reach Matthew Morrow and persuade him to stand down. Retired Rear Admiral Jacques-Yves de Grasse had once been Matthew Morrow's commanding officer. For the last fifteen years, Admiral de Grasse had been running a vineyard and winery in the south of France, one of the few private lands that the United Nations had spared from the Re-Wilding.
So the Admiralty reached out to Admiral de Grasse--who naturally was resentful at the treatment he and Matthew Morrow had both suffered--and he agreed at least to think about it.
But they forgot about Matthew Morrow's old comrade-in-arms, a renegade cyborg like Matthew, who came to the south of France herself to recruit their old commanding officer.
In desperation, they sent an agent to kill Admiral de Grasse and recapture Natalya Bronskaya.
However, the ambush didn't go exactly as planned.
The situation went from bad to worse as Jacques-Yves de Grasse joined Matthew Morrow's revolution--and then discovered an ally the United Systems would never have suspected!
