British America's success in the French and Indian War might have been expected to lead to a period of peace and prosperity, however the exchange of territory following the 1763 peace treaty led to dramatic changes in the political landscape of North America, the disruption of alliances and trade networks, and increased conflict between settlers and Native Americans.
