I doubt there was one guest who attended our wedding noticed anything out of the ordinary. On the face of it, everything appeared to be as it should be. My beautiful trophy bride was about half an hour late walking down the aisle, but she looked classy and stunning in her Vera Wang wedding dress.

When she reached the front of the church, she leaned over and whispered into my ear.

“Thank you, my darling.”

“You’re welcome,” I mouthed back.

If anyone overheard, they probably thought she was thanking me for the extravagant and beautiful wedding. But, she wasn’t. The ceremony went off without a hitch and before we knew it, the priest was telling me I could now kiss my bride. During our kiss, I tasted something bitter and salty on her tongue. There was a musky, masculine odor in her hair but I didn’t have to wonder why.
