Time has become meaningless for Arabella, one day very much like any other--all of them filled with ghosts and memories that haunt her waking hours and her dreams. She has come to accept Loss as a dull and endless ache in her heart, reconciled herself to the impossibility of any meaningful change in her circumstances. Hidden away in her small valley, surrounded by the cats and foxes that have become her only companions, there comes a day when the wind calls out to her with a vague premonition of...something...that will draw her back out into the world for one last effort on behalf of her country.
