Description

Trails of the Hunted is a thrilling novel by James L. Clark that follows the story of a group of hunters who embark on a dangerous journey into the wilderness of Montana. The group includes a seasoned guide, a wealthy businessman, a young woman seeking adventure, and a troubled veteran seeking redemption. As they trek deeper into the mountains, they soon discover that they are being hunted by a mysterious and deadly enemy. With their lives on the line, the group must use all their skills and wits to survive in the harsh wilderness and outsmart their pursuer. The novel is a gripping tale of survival, adventure, and suspense that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.1928. Clark worked as a sculptor for Gorham. He was then offered the job of mounting animal specimens for the American Museum of Natural History, a position that he would hold for almost fifty years. He was trained in the art of taxidermy under Carl Akeley in Chicago for his job at the Natural History Museum. Clark made models of his subjects before he undertook to set up a display in the Museum so that he would represent the animal in its natural state and position. Many of these models were later cast in bronze. Later he traveled extensively to study animals in their natural settings. Contents: The Vanishing Animals; Rhinos; Lions!; Elephants; Some Observations in the Field; Sculpturing and Taxidermy; The Crater of Ngorongoro; African Natives and Safaris; Buffaloes; American Game; Central Asia; Yaks, Ibex, Poli; Captured by Mongols; Tortured; and Permanent Records of the Animal World. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
