Jackie Shane was a musician who graced stages accross North America in the 1960's and 70's. A gifted musicaian and entertainer, Jackie rubbed shoulders with singers like Patti Labelle, Little Richard and other greats of the time. Jackie is also a luminous figure in transgender history, she spoke openly about her feelings and humanity and created space for those who were to follow her. She is fondly remembered as a fixture in Toronto, Canada's music scene of the time. Ever since she resurfaced into the spotlight some 40 years after playing her last public show, her legend only continues to grow.
