Raffe Latimer spent five long years in prison for a murder he did not commit. Each day he dreamed of the moment when he could return to his ranch in Placer City, Oklahoma, and find the men who framed him for the crime. Eager to get their hands on the gold in Quiet Creek, which ran right through his spread, several local businessmen had sent him to prison on a trumped-up charge.
Raffe doesn't know that the men behind the scheme include the bank president, the sheriff, and the town's richest rancher, all of whom will stop at nothing to get the gold.
Along the way, Raffe gets help from a dapper gunslinger, Johnny Quick, whose loyalties are shaky at best. Although he's wary of trusting Johnny, he has no friends and no choice. That changes when he meets Jennifer Mitchell, the niece of the wealthy ranchowner out to steal Raffe's land. She promises to help him, and with her help gives him her heart.
The trio confront the schemers and force a showdown at Quiet Creek, and Raffe discovers that he had more friends than he'd ever thought possible.
